Tournaments and competitions

Run the
tournament.
Don't rebuild
the teams.

Local League gives tournament and competition operators a dedicated place to run their events, while teams keep the identity and relationships they already have.

The problem

A new tournament shouldn't mean a new team.

Teams leave their regular league for a tournament and get asked to recreate the roster, the relationships, and the paperwork inside another disconnected system. Local League is built the other way. The competition changes. The team doesn't.

Home organization

The club, league, or program the team already belongs to.

The same team

Recognizable wherever the schedule takes them.

Tournament

An event they enter. Not a second copy of the team.

Competition Operator

Your tournament. Your workspace.

A tournament company does not have to pretend it is a traditional sports organization. Local League gives that operator a separate workspace. One operator can run several tournaments under the same operator identity.

In the workspace

  • Competition Operator onboarding
  • A dedicated Competition Operator workspace
  • More than one Competition under one operator
  • Operator staff and permissions
  • Operator settings
  • Competition administration that stays separate from a home organization

How it works

From event idea to open registration.

  1. 01Create the Competition
  2. 02Add an Edition
  3. 03Set dates, sport, and location
  4. 04Create Competition Divisions
  5. 05Open Team Registration
  6. 06Review applications
  7. 07Accept, waitlist, or reject
  8. 08Assign the final Division

Team entry

Teams enter. Their identity comes with them.

Two ways in. Neither one asks the team to start over.

Existing Local League team

A coach or authorized team representative selects a team they already manage. That team is not recreated as a tournament-only duplicate.

Independent team

A team outside an existing club can create its own team identity and enter the competition. The authorized representative manages that relationship.

Roster management for independent teams is in development, not in Early Access.

Applications

You decide who gets in.

The team requests a division. You review the application. The requested division stays part of that history. You set the final division when you accept the team. This review path is in Early Access.

  1. 01Submitted
  2. 02Review
  3. 03Accepted, waitlisted, or rejected

  • Primary team contact
  • Organizer review
  • Requested division
  • Final division
  • Decision history

Separate authority

Your event doesn't take over their team.

Competition authority and team authority stay separate. A competition admin can run the event without becoming the permanent owner of every participating team. The home organization stays home. The operator stays the operator of the event. The same person can hold more than one real role, on one Local League account.

  • Team
  • Competition

Team

The home organization and the people already responsible for that team.

Competition

The operator and staff responsible for this event, and only this event.

Everyone gets the access they need without handing over control they shouldn't have.

Public edition page

Give teams one place to start.

Each edition can have a public page. That is the front door for teams looking at the event.

  • Competition identity
  • Edition
  • Sport
  • Dates
  • Location
  • Published competition divisions
  • Whether team registration is open
  • A team registration entry point

The tournament isn't an island.

  • Teams
  • People
  • Organizations
  • Facilities
  • Communication

The tournament becomes another place the team plays — not another place the team has to start over.

Rosters for the event, the event schedule, fees, and officials come later. They are not in Early Access.
